Llechryd & District Garden Club

Llechryd & District Garden Club was founded in 1983 by a small group of enthusiastic gardeners and today has over 60 active members. It originally met in Llechryd but moved to nearby Boncath in 2007, where the Community Hall has excellent facilities.

The Club has a full annual programme of monthly talks on a wide range of topics.  Regular seasonal plant sales and seed swaps are a feature of our talks. There are also social events, visits to gardens and garden shows.

Members may borrow gardening books from the club library, housed in Boncath Hall. See Forms for a list of books (PDF) and loan form.

New Flowers

The members' aims were to promote an interest in gardening and the growing of flowers, fruit and vegetables, whilst providing a focal point for the exchange of ideas, to the advantage of horticulture in the area.

These aims still guide the club today and meetings are very much social occasions as the membership mainly comes from towns and villages within a 10 mile radius of the village.

Recent worldwide events have given a greater focus to the natural environment and the benefits to mental health of gardening in particular.

The club extends a warm, friendly welcome to new members and visitors who might wish to take up a new hobby or rediscover their passion for gardening.
